Wiep van Bunge en anderen over #Spinoza's Ultimi barbarorum

Hoe bijzonder het artikel van Wim Goris, “Een plaats voor Spinoza’s ultimi barbarorum,” [cf. vorige blog] is, blijkt als je kijkt naar hoe anderen over dat onderwerp schreven. Ik geef hier drie voorbeelden

[1] Michael Della Rocca heeft in zijn Spinoza [2006] deze passage, waarin blijkt dat hij Spinoza’s behoefte om een plakkaat met “Ultimi barbarorum” op te hangen als een passionele ziet:

Op basis van een analyse van de tekst en van de omstandigheden waarin deze ontstond, komt hij tot een interessante hypothese over wie Spinoza voor ogen had en waar hij zijn plakkaat had willen ophangen.
